Leave the Ladder in the Garage, New Lenox

New Lenox's Specialists in Christmas Light Hanging Service

A three-story entry gable at a 10/12 pitch is not a homeowner project, and New Lenox has a great many of them. The extension ladder that reaches that height is already at the edge of its safe working angle, and November ground does not stay firm under the feet.

Our Christmas light hanging service exists precisely for this. Trained installers, full insurance, and lift equipment where a ladder is the wrong tool. No member of your household goes up. Read our Christmas light safety guidance.

It is worth being direct about what a homeowner can reasonably do themselves here. Ground-level work, walkway markers, wreaths, and shrub lighting are entirely manageable and some clients handle those themselves. What is not reasonable is a 10/12 pitch at thirty feet in November. Splitting the job that way is a legitimate option and we are happy to quote roofline only.

Your House Exactly as We Found It

Steep Pitch and Multiple Roof Planes

Steep pitches change everything about how a strand behaves. It wants to slide, spacing drifts under its own weight, and the clip has to hold against gravity as well as wind. Getting a clean line across a 10/12 or 12/12 plane is a technique problem, not an effort problem.

Where multiple gables intersect, each plane gets its own cut strand with the transitions planned so they read as continuous from the street. Our post on hanging lights on a roof peak explains the method.

Roof Condition Checked Before We Quote

Mounting That Leaves Nothing Behind

Clips only — shingle clips at the roof edge, gutter clips on the lip, purpose-made hardware around windows and columns. Never staples, nails, or adhesive.

On newer construction with architectural shingles and factory-finished fascia, penetration damage is both visible and expensive to correct. In January the display comes down and there is nothing left in the house to find later.

Clip selection on architectural shingles is not the same as on standard three-tab. The thicker laminated profile common on newer New Lenox construction needs a deeper clip to seat properly, and a standard clip forced onto it will either pop off in the first wind event or lift the shingle tab. We carry both and match to the roof, which is a small detail that determines whether the run is still straight in January.

What a Properly Hung New Lenox Display Looks Like

What You Get for Handing It Over

Even spacing across every plane, straight lines that follow the roof geometry, hidden power routing, and bulbs facing consistently. On a tall New Lenox elevation those details are the entire difference between a display that looks designed and one that looks attempted.

In-season repairs are included and takedown is scheduled. See the complete New Lenox installation service or our Christmas light contractors page. Get a free quote.
