Holiday lighting is a five-month service. Ours covers design, installation, the full operating season, scheduled January takedown, and storage until next fall — and on Batavia’s older homes the takedown and maintenance portions carry unusual weight, because getting back onto a steep century-old roof is not something to do casually.

There is a specific argument for full service on a historic home that does not apply to newer construction. Every additional trip onto a century-old roof carries some risk to the roof, so the fewer people going up there and the more careful they are, the better. Using one trained crew for install, any repairs, and takedown means the same people who know the roof’s weak points are the only ones on it.
Wind off the Fox River, ice loading, and freeze-thaw cycling on connections all take a toll between December and February. When something fails, we return and repair it at no charge for the whole season.
That promise depends on us having supplied and installed the product. A company hanging customer-bought retail strands cannot make it.
Roof condition is something we note and report even though it is outside our scope. Crews are on your roof twice a year and see things homeowners do not, and on century homes that occasionally means flagging a lifted shingle or a failing flashing detail. We tell you. It is not a service we charge for and it has saved several Batavia clients a considerably larger repair.
Removal is scheduled rather than requested. Crews take everything down carefully, inspect and repair each strand, and take it all back to our facility.
