The consultation on an Inverness property is a genuine site survey. We walk the lot, check sightlines from the road and from the driveway approach, identify which specimen trees carry the composition, and map power distribution across the property before designing a single strand.
You receive a written plan and a fixed price. Installation follows as a multi-technician, sometimes multi-day visit, sequenced roofline first, then trees, then landscape and power. Our guide to creating a holiday light show covers what is possible at this scale.
Sightline planning is the step that most distinguishes an estate design from a scaled-up suburban one. On a property set two hundred feet back behind mature oaks, a roofline display may be almost invisible from the road in leaf-off conditions and completely invisible in others. We photograph the approach at dusk during the survey specifically to establish what will actually be seen, and design outward from that rather than from the house.
Larger designs need longer lead times for a simple reason: product has to be ordered and cut to the property, and there is a lot more of it. Late requests are the ones we most often cannot accommodate at full scope.
Through the season the display runs on timers and we handle failures. January removal is scheduled, and the entire set is stored at our facility — which on a property this size is a meaningful service in itself. See our approach to lighting large trees.
Estate designs are also the ones most likely to evolve across seasons rather than being finished in year one. A first-year install typically covers roofline, entry, and two or three specimen trees. By year three, most clients have extended into the drive, the landscape beds, and additional canopy work. We design year one so that it extends cleanly rather than needing to be rebuilt, which is a planning decision made at the start.
August and September contact gives you real choice. By November the multi-day slots are gone. American Holiday Lights has worked large northwest-suburban properties since 2007.
